The circles above were created by using a bike cog with ink on it and then turning it. It is to show the spinning movement of peddling a bike and speed. I took this idea and started drawing circles in different ways.
Mark Rothko
I looked at some of Mark Rothko's work but didn't end up using his style within my work. It did influence me to test out some painting(circle image below).

I ended up going back to using the bike cog.
I decided to change the colour of the cog to green as it is an outdoors colour and the outdoors is where mountain bikes are ridden.
